The challenge

ReSport's Merchant Center feed had 1,200 SKUs with inconsistent titles and 30% of products disapproved. PMax was scaling — but on the wrong inventory, missing the high-margin items entirely.

The approach

  • Audited the full feed — fixed 380 disapproved products, rewrote 1,200 titles to match search intent.
  • Set up custom labels for margin tier, season, and best-seller status.
  • Carved PMax campaigns by custom label, not category — let the algorithm chase margin, not volume.
  • Excluded low-margin SKUs from PMax entirely; pushed them to standard Shopping at lower bids.

The result

Conversion value grew 2.4× quarter-over-quarter while ad cost held steady. The high-margin asset group hit 11× ROAS — the engine that paid for everything else.
